Material of manufacture?
Ceramic: A material made of clay, water and other powders at a temperature of 1000: 1500.
Porcelain: A material made from powdered glass or granite, clay, water and other powders at a temperature of 1200: 1500.
Sizes:-
Ceramic has different sizes, even if they are fractions of a millimeter. Because ceramic is porcelain, this ceramic is affected by the heat of manufacturing. You will always find ceramic sizes that are not fixed. You will find a tile size larger than another tile, even if they are fractions of a millimeter. These fractions of a millimeter along a wall that contains many tiles create a problem that may reach half a centimeter, and this problem appears in the cornice, meaning that the longitudinal line, for example, from bottom to top is not fixed.Porcelain has more accurate measurements because it is a piece of glass.
Edge shape:-
Ceramic edges are not completely straight and vary depending on the degree of sorting.
Porcelain edges are straighter and sharper.
Method of installation:-
Ceramic does not require the presence of a substance on the back of the tile before installation. Because ceramic is porcelain or good clay, this clay will be able to react very quickly with the mortar or with the cement and water that are present, so I can install it with ease and it will stick to the mortar. As for porcelain, a layer of porcelain compound must be applied to the back of the tile before installing it. Because porcelain is different, it is a piece of glass that will not react easily with the cement and water that make up the mortar. Therefore, other joints must be used in order to be able to stick it.
